Not happy to classify the sun as the closest star? Ok then, we’ll take a look at Alpha Centauri - the closest star to earth after the sun. Located about 4.37 light-years away (that’s 41.5 trillion km), Alpha Centauri is actually a cluster of 3 stars orbiting one another - Alpha Centuari A and B and Proxima Centauri. Alpha Centauri A and B are 4.37 light-years away and Proxima Centauri is located a mere 4.22 light-years away. Are we reaching the moon yet?
